3-Day Appellate Writing Workshop May 17 - May 19 at Wayne Law School
Registration Preferred by May 4, 2018
The SADO/MAACS 3-Day Appellate Writing Workshop is being held Thursday May 17 – Saturday May 19 at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit. It is designed for appellate lawyers, but trial lawyers are welcome, too. If you want to become a better writer, this workshop is a must. The workshop is free. Lunch is provided each day. Lodging and meals are provided for attendees traveling more than 50 miles.
This hands-on workshop will teach you new ways to write engaging and compelling briefs. We work interactively on identifying case themes, writing a more compelling statement of facts (the most important part of your brief), storytelling, and improving the look of your pleadings. Our time is split between small group exercises, plenary sessions, and independent writing and feedback. You may bring your own case or use the model problem that is provided.
Registrants must attend all three days. Attendees will earn 18.5 hours of CLE credit.
Please join us. No matter how experienced you are or how well you write, you will leave this workshop a better lawyer, with new skills and perspectives. Space is extremely limited, so register early, preferably before May 4.
