INTRODUCED:
Prohibit Juvenile Life Without Parole
HBs 5941-5944 would amend and repeal various statutes to prohibit a sentence of life without the possibility of parole for a person who was less than 18 years old when the offense was committed. The bills were introduced in the House on March 22, 2022.
Extend Sunset on Court Costs
HB 5956 would amend MCL 769.1k to extend the sunset on the imposition of court costs that can be imposed upon conviction to October 1, 2025 (current sunset is October 1, 2022). The bill was introduced in the House on March 23, 2022.
